Landscape Tender Interviews - CityLife Tampines
Meeting Summary
CityLife Tampines MCST (514 units) conducted interviews with three landscape maintenance vendors for the estate's landscaping tender on 20 April 2026. Each vendor presented their company background, site observations, and proposals. Councillors Davier and Jicong, along with managing agent Dixon, interviewed all three over a ~90 minute session.
Vendor 1: Plant Culture (Christy)
Company Background
- Based at 34 Jalan Selaseh, Seletar Hill Estate, Singapore 808449
- Website: plantculture.com.sg — tagline: "Meeting your garden needs"
- 19 years in landscape maintenance, ~90+ workers
- Specialises in both indoor and outdoor landscaping
- Mostly residential condominiums (2–3 commercial projects including Liang Court)
- Propagation-focused approach — strong on cost-saving through plant propagation
Site Observations
- Compacted/clay soil throughout estate, sunken areas from erosion
- Trees planted too densely during development stage, causing leaning and competition for nutrients
- Bamboo section causing persistent bare ground — nothing can survive underneath
- CPG shrubs near swimming pool unsuitable for full sun exposure (causing burnt leaves)
- Perimeter fencing showing bare patches
Key Points from Interview
- Proposed soil improvement in phases as first priority before any planting
- Recommended 3 gardeners (tender specifies 2) — 2 is doable but less efficient, especially during dry seasons requiring manual watering
- Annual tree pruning NOT included in quote — ad hoc basis only (anything above 6m with long pole handled in-house; above that contracted separately)
- Offers monthly horticulturist site visits with before/after photo reports
- WhatsApp group per estate for real-time communication with management
- Willing to take over existing gardeners if management approves
- Handles resident complaints through management only (not directly)
- Recommends non-comprehensive irrigation contract over comprehensive (savings on pump replacements)
💰 Pricing
- Year 1 comprehensive: ~$133,000 | non-comprehensive: ~$126,000
- Year 2: +$15,000 increase
- ⚠️ Annual pruning costs NOT included — will be additional ad hoc charges
- Optional items: Arborist report $4,004 (most expensive of the three)
Vendor 2: Summer Pond (Marinelle/Nell)
Company Background
- Summer Pond & Landscaping Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 200307000D)

- 28 years of experience (website claims; interview stated 20 years)
- ISA-certified arborists on staff (Marinelle Nagrampa is ISA-certified)
- Extensive NParks government track record with 16+ awarded tenders including:

- Produces own mulch from wood chipping at own nursery
- WSQ-trained gardeners
- Top 300 SME in Singapore (recently awarded)
- BCA L5, BizSAFE, ISO certified
Site Observations (most detailed of all three)
- Sunken/compacted soil — prevalent throughout estate
- CPG shrubs (Acalypha) under full sun causing widespread burnt leaves — recommended progressive replacement with sun-tolerant species
- Overgrown vegetation with high-maintenance shrubs like Tomato cocos generating excessive dry leaf litter
- Turf areas looking dry, especially during east coast dry spells — suggested portable sprinkler heads
- Perimeter bare patches caused by Hopia trees monopolising soil nutrients — recommended converting some shrub areas to cow grass turf
- Bamboo area needs regular thinning and pruning — proposed Piper ground cover + granite chips for 60-70% soil coverage improvement
- Thunbergia climbers protruding beyond fence — recommended replacement with cat's claw creeper (yellow flowers, stays within fence, more compact)
- Trees generally not healthy — structure needs improvement via crown reduction/thinning, fertilising, and soil topping up
Key Points from Interview
- Annual tree pruning INCLUDED in contract price
- Monthly horticulturist reports with before/after photos
- Supervisor visits twice monthly (accompanies float team)
- Soil loosening included in gardener duties; mulching provided complementary from own nursery

- Mosquito concern from residents — clarified it's dry leaf accumulation, not canopy density
- Council requested revision of perimeter quote from Eugenia ($30,500) to cat's claw creeper (pending revised quote)
- Marinelle demonstrated genuine passion — stayed after site visit to continue photographing and observing the estate
- Returned for second CityLife tender interview after 2 years (same team: Marinelle + Mr. Tu)

Council Discussion & Preference
The council is strongly leaning towards Summer Pond for the following reasons:
- Most competitive pricing — lowest overall when including annual pruning and value-added services
- Most detailed presentation — only vendor to prepare slides with site photos, observations, and specific recommendations
- Demonstrated passion — Marinelle stayed after the site visit to continue photographing the estate; this was noticed and appreciated by both councillors
- Government-grade expertise — extensive NParks track record with 16+ awarded tenders, bringing public sector standards to residential maintenance
- Full in-house capability — own equipment (8 lorry cranes, wood chippers, boom lifts), ISA-certified arborists, no outsourcing
- Track record — returned for second CityLife tender after 2 years with the same dedicated team
Concerns raised:
- Plant Culture's exclusion of annual pruning is a significant gap — actual costs could exceed Summer Pond when factored in
- Nature Landscapes disadvantaged by not attending site visit and missing optional items — felt unprepared compared to the other two
- Dixon noted prior experience with Summer Pond at another estate (tree pruning/ad hoc works) — pricing was competitive
Action Items
- Dixon to update council once Summer Pond submits revised perimeter quote (cat's claw instead of Eugenia)
- Nature Landscapes to submit optional items quote + site-specific answers by end of week
- Council to seek reference feedback on Summer Pond from Johnson's network
- Dixon to send meeting recording to council

### Vendor 1: Plant Culture (Christy)
**[32:48] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Hello,.
**[32:50] Davier:** You're recording, right?
**[32:52] Dixon:** Yes, recording. Yeah.
**[32:54] Davier:** Okay.
**[32:58] Jicong:** Yeah, I can hear you.
**[33:00] Dixon:** Okay, Chairman, do we want to wait another two minutes?
**[33:06] Jicong:** How do you do? I think we can start.
**[33:12] Dixon:** We can start. Okay, so I will now straight away invite accept the plant culture. Her name is called Ms. Christie.
**[33:19] Jicong:** Okay.
**[33:26] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Hello.
**[33:29] Christy (Plant Culture):** Hi. Yeah, can hear. Hi, Christy.
**[33:32] Dixon:** Yeah, so you can hear me loud and clear.
**[33:35] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yes.
**[33:36] Dixon:** Okay, so thank you for taking the time to join us this evening. Maybe Christy, do you have any slides to show or you want to maybe do a short introduction about your company?
**[33:46] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay, sorry, I don't have any slides to show, but yeah, so I'm. Christy from Plan Culture. So we've been here for 19 years already doing landscape maintenance, mostly commercials and residentials. Yeah. So currently we are at about 90 over workers and yeah, that's about it.
**[34:12] Dixon:** Okay, so maybe just a quick question from my side. So usually for Plant Culture, do you finish those kind of monthly reports with photos and also the action plans that your team have carried out during that month, aside from the attendance record that you will usually submit? Yeah.
**[34:31] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay, so for monthly report is as. A way necessary, like if it's required, we. We can do it. And we also have horticulturalist. So the horticulturalist will do the report.
**[34:44] Dixon:** Yeah, meaning your. Your site supervisor, is it?
**[34:49] Christy (Plant Culture):** No. So it'll be myself and another colleague. Yeah, we are both horticulturists, so we will take our visits to the estate maybe like twice a month, check on the health and status of the plants or what is required to be proposed to be done. Like example soy top, maybe some infilling or any trees to be pruned. Yeah, those we will be stating in the report.
**[35:16] Dixon:** So you'll be stated in your. In the monthly report, correct?
**[35:21] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. And a few. And a few images of the before and after works of our daily gardeners. Oh, okay.
**[35:31] Dixon:** That would be great. If you have this money report. So at least the MCST can see the progress improvement if upon awarding so along the way we can see the improvement. So to be included in the monthly report. So can we check does your contract existing now includes the annual pruning?
**[35:56] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. In regards to the tender I did not include the. The yearly pruning amount in because every year there will be different situations. Like sometimes you have to remove the trees or you have like maybe some. Trees you have to prune. Crown reduction or bolading is all at different cost. It really depends on the situation. So it is a bit difficult to give you a sum now. Yeah. And also for the pruning works is not necessarily done every year. Sometimes some smaller trees you do not. Require to do as well, maybe can drag to two years. Yeah, so we didn't include it in. Yeah, because it will be a bigger sum.
**[36:44] Dixon:** Okay, so you're sharing that some of your estates that you handle, some of the estate, they do not do yearly pruning for the whole estate. Correct?
**[36:56] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah, correct. So most of my estate, they do. It separately on ad hoc basis. So I have some clients that do every two years, every three years. We have also some that do four years. Yeah. And also my team, whatever is reachable,. We will also prune the trees. So sometimes only if necessary. Like we're talking about anything above 6. Meter and above that requires to prune then. Yeah, that will be on ad hoc basis.
**[37:30] Dixon:** Okay, so anything above 6 meter.
**[37:33] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah, I mean with our equipment with. The long pole, what is reachable for our clients? Usually we do it up to 6 meter with the long pole. Yeah. So but I mean on paper, for. Safety reasons, we have to stay there.
**[37:50] Dixon:** Three meter.
**[37:52] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah.
**[37:54] Dixon:** Okay. Do you have a roughly estimated cost? Like, like example, your other sites, like City Life, the current estate is 514 units, kind of area size where the air hog of the pruning of the trees, the costing. Do you have like a. Like an estimated range?
**[38:15] Christy (Plant Culture):** I can't give you an estimated range now, but I will have to inspect closely. Then I can give you a sum. Yeah.
**[38:25] Dixon:** Okay. Okay. Understand, Councillor, is there any other questions for Christy?
**[38:33] Davier:** If you've already visited the site.
**[38:37] Christy (Plant Culture):** Correct. It was the site visit hosted by Dixon. Yeah.
**[38:41] Davier:** Okay. Can you maybe, I don't know, maybe suggest some improvements that can be made as real estate to our. The situation on the site and. Yeah, what else can we do to make it better?
**[38:58] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. Okay. So as per our site visit, what I saw was mostly compacted soil and clay. Like soil means moving towards yellow red soil. Yeah. So and also a lot of sunken areas. So I. The first thing I will propose is. Actually the soil for the estate because. The soil is also the base for. The plants to grow healthily healthy. Yeah. So yeah. What I would suggest is doing the soil type first in phases and then from there progressively we can do propagation or we can plan on planting style. Yeah. Because some of the plants are also.
**[39:43] Christy (Plant Culture):** Quite dry up over there from what I see on that day. Yeah. And also. Right, because I think the tender put. Two station gardeners only, which I Think actually is not frequent enough. I mean, it's quite a. Little manpower for quite a big estate. So in that case, if, let's say. The irrigation is not working or is insufficient during the dry season, we will have to do a lot of manual watering. Yeah. So based on what I see, actually. 3 Is quite an ideal number of manpower there. But not saying that 2 station is. Not doable, it's just that the efficiency will be lesser than 3 manpower. Yeah.
**[40:35] Davier:** What do you think of the trees all around the state? Because we've received comments from our previous vendor that the trees are not very ideal.
**[40:51] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. Actually trees are okay for trees. I would say estate the trees. It's not very matured yet, but I can tell that it's very planted closely together during the development stage. So that's why you can see the. Density of the trees. You can see some leaning trees as well because they are all fighting for space. Yeah. But in terms of. Issues, I think it can be solved with pruning. Yeah. But it's not a very big issue as of now. And another part is, I think there's. One section of the bamboos. Yeah. That, that one is a problem for leaf litter. So. So a lot of planting can't be done below bamboo. So the area may be bare for quite long.
**[41:46] Davier:** Yeah. It's been there for the last eight years.
**[41:50] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah, correct. It's going to better because whatever I plan there is not going to survive.
**[42:03] Jicong:** Yeah. So I noticed in the optional item we asked for, the parameter replacement, I think based on your quotation is quoted based on unit length.
**[42:16] Dixon:** Right.
**[42:16] Christy (Plant Culture):** Correct.
**[42:18] Jicong:** Yeah. Dixon, did you provide the drawings to plant culture so that they can give us total cost a.
**[42:28] Dixon:** The drawings? I think the perimeter, total length I have not given them, if I'm not wrong.
**[42:34] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. I think you've given me 425 meter. Or something like that. Yeah.
**[42:39] Dixon:** Okay.
**[42:40] Christy (Plant Culture):** So I, based on that calculation with the planting in between will be 0.3 meter apart for each plan. So based on that's how I get numbers.
**[42:52] Jicong:** Okay. So did you furnish us the total cost after that?
**[42:57] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yes, I did.
**[42:58] Jicong:** Oh, okay. So maybe Dixon, you need to let us know the total cost.
**[43:03] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. Because it's. I, I propose two types of hedges. Yeah. So yeah. Maybe you would like to take. The amount is quite a difference.
**[43:15] Jicong:** Okay. And the other thing is during the sidewalk, you, I think many of you notice the plants near the water pool, they grow dark. The leaves.
**[43:28] Christy (Plant Culture):** Oh, like brownish. Is it?
**[43:30] Jicong:** Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
**[43:32] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So.
**[43:33] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah.
**[43:33] Jicong:** Yeah. So there was some comment to say that this type of plant is not easy to maintain. It's either get burn easily by the sun or it can get affected by the disease.
**[43:47] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. Actually that type of plant is called the cfidium shrubs. Yeah. So they grow better under indirect. Sun and other shady conditioner. Yeah. So one thing about there is it's. Quite an open space. So you can see a few leaves burn. Yeah. But for disease wise, I think if you change the location of the. The plant, it will actually thrive quite well. Yeah. But I would recommend under shaded areas.
**[44:19] Jicong:** Yeah. But right now the swim, the swimming pool over there is not shaded area. So. So I think that the entire state there is a lot of such plants. Do you have any suggestions over that plant?
**[44:36] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah, we can. We can propose. Yeah, we can propose. There's a lot of type of plant. That likes the sunlight. Yeah. But maybe not. Not plants that have small leaves because near the pool.
**[44:50] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So.
**[44:51] Jicong:** Okay. Are you able to give us a ballpark number if you want to propose replacement? How much will that cost?
**[45:01] Christy (Plant Culture):** I will need to go down and. Busy again and make have a better load than there. I can propose and give you the amount. Yeah, it's better.
**[45:11] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah.
**[45:11] Jicong:** Okay. Third question is just now Dixon mentioned the monthly report which is done up by your or your colleagues. Right. That means you will have monthly side work or how does it work?
**[45:30] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. Usually for us when we go down. To the site, we will inform the management. So management will be in the loop as well with the management. See what are the issues maybe we're facing on that time. And then we will discuss and then if there's a proposal that needs to be given, we will give. Yeah. So everything will be. I mean we will be working with. The management a lot. Yeah.
**[45:56] Jicong:** Which means you will have at least one sidewalk per month.
**[46:00] Christy (Plant Culture):** Correct. Okay, definitely. Yeah.
**[46:04] Jicong:** Okay. I think that is something we are looking for because right now the console is not updated on the landscaping matters. And over the years there is a lot of lackings in terms of the maintenance of the landscaping. So moving forward, when we change new windows, we hope we can get a monthly update on the things we need to do so the council can make conscious decision on where the areas we.
**[46:28] Christy (Plant Culture):** Need to improve can understand.
**[46:32] Jicong:** Okay. Yeah, that's all from me.
**[46:35] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay, thank you.
**[46:37] Dixon:** How about Christoph, do you have anything for Christy from Plant Culture?
**[46:47] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Not really.
**[46:50] Davier:** Can you tell us about your experience with residential estates and like our size and what are the challenges that might face and how you overcome it?
**[47:02] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay.
**[47:03] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay.
**[47:04] Christy (Plant Culture):** Actually all the enhance. I mean based on all my clients I actually, we have to discuss and actually depends on the budget as well. So we usually I will work with my clients budget. We can plan like a year planning like or maybe phase one. Maybe we want to enhance this area. We usually send a proposal and then we go through a few discussion and then we come to a conclusion. Yeah. But there are some that doesn't. Doesn't want to enhance the landscape with. I mean like buying plants. So how we compromise is through propagation. But propagation of plants is limited. That means there's limited choice of plant. Yeah.
**[47:50] Christy (Plant Culture):** So for us our strong point is. Actually we do a lot of propagation but depends on, depends if the client is acceptable to the type of plant that we are going to bring in. Yeah. That's one way of saving for our clients as well. Yeah. And okay, most of the estate also there's sunken soil. Yeah. That's a very common problem. So usually some of our estate we,. We do propose the soy topa as. Well but not at one shot. It's also in phases and in with proper planning. Yeah. So this is our experience. Yeah. But so far for communication wise we.
**[48:37] Christy (Plant Culture):** Are actually on the dot. We always respond. Yeah.
**[48:47] Jicong:** Okay.
**[48:52] Dixon:** There's nothing from my side already. Council. Christy, before anything do you want to add on anything?
**[49:04] Christy (Plant Culture):** I think to add on the communication part. Right. We do have, we do open our WhatsApp group for each state. So management will be inside the group. My workers, the management team of our site will all be in the group. So everyone is in the loop on what's going on with the site. So feedbacks that are stated in the group will be done quickly as soon as possible. That's what we do for all our clients also. Yeah.
**[49:42] Dixon:** Something in my car. So usually when you take over a new site, the existing site workers, you don't take in them. Right. You're just straight away provide two new manpower to the estate that you're taking over. Correct.
**[49:56] Christy (Plant Culture):** I mean if we have requests that like oh I like this. Gardener but I don't like the management team. So I. So sometime we try. We. We are okay with taking in the gardeners, but mostly local. Yeah. Or else if, I mean if. The existing is not to your favor then yeah, we will bring in new workers. Yeah. It's not, it's not compulsory to take them in also.
**[50:23] Dixon:** Okay.
**[50:26] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah.
**[50:30] Davier:** Have you had experience with dealing with particularly demanding residents who are not from the council? And how do you normally Deal with them.
**[50:46] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. I can't really say much about that,. But because it goes by majority voting as well.
**[50:55] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So.
**[50:58] Christy (Plant Culture):** We, I don't know directly to councils. I always go through management because that's how the communication line should be. Yeah. Unless, unless we have a meeting with councils. And so. I will always, I will listen but I still have to discuss. With the management on what is needed to be done because there are some,. I mean there are some unreasonable ones,. But I can't make the decision, you see. Yeah. So I try to compromise, but I. Still go through management at the end of the day.
**[51:34] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah.
**[51:35] Davier:** Okay. Currently, what, what are the similar size condominiums that you guys are working on at the moment?
**[51:53] Christy (Plant Culture):** I have Yongan park is in River Valley. We have a few at issue, like the Madonna Residences. Almost similar size. Yeah,. There are a few. I can send you the lease if, if it's a better reference for your.
**[52:17] Davier:** Okay. And your ratio of residential to commercial is what?
**[52:25] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. Actually mostly is residential. I only have two or three commercials. Like Nian City is one. Yeah.
**[52:35] Davier:** Okay.
**[52:37] Jicong:** Yeah.
**[52:37] Christy (Plant Culture):** The rest is purely condos.
**[52:40] Davier:** Okay.
**[52:41] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah.
**[52:44] Jicong:** I think in your submission you already submitted at least of your current residential projects, correct?
**[52:51] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. But some the sizes are not equivalent to city life. If you want like a better reference on like almost similar size then I can redo and send it over so you all can have a better.
**[53:07] Davier:** Yeah, we're always curious about the like comparable estates because they're all very different.
**[53:13] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. Also the environment plays a part.
**[53:23] Dixon:** Okay. So council, if there's nothing for Christy, then we shall end off this session with Christy.
**[53:35] Davier:** Yeah.
**[53:36] Jicong:** Okay.
**[53:37] Davier:** Anyone have any more questions? No.
**[53:41] Dixon:** Okay, so thank you so much Christy for your time this evening. Along the way we update you once we have the confirmation.
**[53:50] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay. Sorry, can I also check like because. The irrigation is inclusive right. In the tender.
**[54:01] Dixon:** Oh yeah. There's a comprehensive and non comprehensive.
**[54:04] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah. For, for that I will actually suggest the non comprehensive. Yeah. Because comprehensive is a, it's a very big sum to the contract and okay, let's say, I mean your pump is not always 40 years old example. You don't really need to replace it all the time. So maybe we can consider on that part as well.
**[54:31] Jicong:** Yeah.
**[54:33] Dixon:** Okay. We will let the rest of the members know. Yeah.
**[54:41] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay, thank you.
**[54:42] Dixon:** Okay, thank you. Thank you.
**[54:46] Davier:** Thank you.
**[54:47] Christy (Plant Culture):** Thanks.
**[54:56] Dixon:** Council. The next is Summer Pond. I will drop them a call to see are they ready.
### Vendor 2: Summer Pond (Marinelle)
**[59:53] Davier:** Yeah, okay.
**[59:55] Dixon:** Okay, they are. The name is called Marinia and. Okay, I will omit them now.
**[01:00:18] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Hello? Yeah, yeah, hi. Hello.
**[01:00:25] Dixon:** Hello. Yeah. Okay, so without further delay, thank you for joining us this evening. Do you want to do a short introduction to of your company?
**[01:00:41] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah. Can you allow me to like share?
**[01:00:45] Dixon:** Yeah, sure. Okay, hold on now let me give you the share. Okay. Do you have the share option? Yeah.
**[01:01:03] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay, let me. Let me share my slide first. Good evening everyone. My name is Nell and I'll be presenting to you just a short intro about Samopon. So. Okay. The objective of this presentation is to let you all know Samopan capabilities and what are our observations in the current landscape cond and what can we propose as a practical improvement strategy to improve the condition of the landscape of the estate and also to highlight our expertise and professional landscape management approach towards this landscape maintenance for city life. So to begin with, what is our strength as a company? We are established 20 years of experience in the landscape industry with strong operational knowledge in managing large residential estates and parks projects. We have proven track record, extensive portfolio managing MCST residential maintenance and 10 years of experience in government landscape projects including works related to N parks. So professional expertise.
**[01:02:43] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Our team includes horticulturists and arborists and we ensure tree health assessment, risk management and agricultural and standard landscape maintenance practices are in place. Since we are doing NPARCS projects we also bring the same kind of standards from the government sector to the mcst. So yeah, what preventive and sustainable landscape maintenance approach also so we have, we put emphasis on preventive care rather than reactive maintenance so we focus more on soil health, plant suitability and long term landscape sustainability. This is what we can do as professionals who handles the day to day activities on site. So apart from that we have skilled maintenance team, experienced gardeners and landscape technicians. So our gardeners also we ensure that they are sent to WSQ training. Since we are doing NPARS projects we are also required to send our workers to WSQ training so also have strong operational resources.
**[01:04:14] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So that means also that we actually don't outsource tree pruning and all these things because we are equipped with lorry, cranes, boomleafs and other equipment. So it enables us to have safe and efficient handling of, you know, large trees, tree removal and heavy landscape works. That's like what we are doing In NPARCS also. So we have this commitment to continuous improvement. So when we actually come on board we don't just think of the first year that we will maintain the place, but it's a continuous improvement with regular monitoring and proactive recommendations before we, it's even highlighted to us. We, we usually have our regular visit on site and highlight the irregularities to our clients. So yeah, that's our commitment. Okay. Just a few of our certificates.
**[01:05:29] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So we have been awarded also as one of the top 300 companies in Singapore recently and we Be Safe and the L5, we have OSHA certificates as well. So as you can see, these are our equipment and we have Lori cranes around, I think around eight Lori cranes. So this team is doing island wide. So whatever tree pruning or any arboricultural works involved on site, we don't actually outsource. So these are other equipments that we have. And yeah, if you see the wood chipping machine also. So we produce our own mulch. So when it comes to the city life that when we walk around, these are some of the observations and recommendations that we can give you. So after this or along the way, you may want to ask questions, feel free to just interrupt me. I'm okay to answer questions along the way.
**[01:06:52] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So I have taken photos when we actually went around. So one of the common issues I have observed throughout the estate maybe is a sunken soil and compacted soil likely due to erosion or lack of soil loosening. So this is quite prevalent in the entire estate. We have seen a lot of the plants that are not doing well, obviously lacking sufficient nutrients, either very compacted soil or those topsoil have been washed out. So they don't have really enough nutrients to support normal growth. So our recommendation is a regular soil loosening and probably topping up of soil for the entire estate, which we can give you an estimate also of how much soil do you need top up the entire estate. And then also I recommend that, you know, in every site we recommend that we do mulching.
**[01:08:03] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** You know, that those mulch can help to improve the soil condition and reduce further erosion and also retain moisture. We have noticed in the east is sometimes extremely hot during dry season and the plants really dries up so quickly. So one of the things that we usually propose to our clients is to do mulching. You know, the mulching is actually done by us. So whatever debris on site from tree pruning and other works, you know, we chip it with our Own machine in our nursery and then we bring it back on site as mulching. So we can actually do the same for your estate once you, once we, you actually tap up the soil, then we can apply compost, sorry, mulching and then. Okay, what some other things that I've noticed, you know, overgrown vegetation, accumulation of dry leaves across the estate.
**[01:09:15] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** You can see a lot of brown things everywhere. So there are also landscape areas that I find that the, some of the plants are really quite high maintenance. As you can see these tomato cocos, like it's quite tedious for the gardeners to really like remove the brown, the dry leaves every now and then. So usually on other sites I propose to them to slowly like replace this high maintenance kind of shrubs to some of the low maintenance and you don't have to spend so much time removing all these dry leaves. So yeah, what I can suggest is to do a selective pruning over this kind of landscape plants and maybe recommend to progressively replace high maintenance species with a more suitable species.
**[01:10:19] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So usually when we come on board we do a thorough analysis on the condition of the landscape and what is sustainable and what is not sustainable. We do highlight to the, to the clients so that you know, we can be more productive in doing maintenance, something like that. So some of the plants looks like a bit leggy, like they're supposed to be trimmed low but they've been allowed to grow so tall. So like this kind of maintenance practice, we try to train our gardeners on the proper way to maintain certain shrubs. So because in the landscape, right, different shrubs, different ground covers have different maintenance requirements as well. So yeah, this kind of thing, we try to educate our workers.
**[01:11:20] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So additionally the, you know, the turf, when we walk through, actually the turf looking dry, I think it must because of the dry spell. So we suggest that you know, during dry season we can install some of the portable sprinkler heads over the lawns to just keep it green. And also grass actually requires regular repair also and top dressing. So this is one thing that maybe can look into later. Okay. Perimeter fencing, actually a lot of bare patches. One of the things that I've noticed because of the trees, these trees, actually this tree species, specifically the Hopia, it takes up a lot of nutrients from the ground. So as a result a lot of some shrubs and ground covers, they don't really do well in this kind, in this type of environment where you can see roots everywhere.
**[01:12:38] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So what we can suggest is like maybe do some soil topping up on certain areas and do some replanting. And maybe some areas don't need to have a lot of ground cover. You can actually convert it into turf onto cow grass or whatever is suitable that, you know, requires low maintenance. So because putting more shrubs will actually, you know, the competition of nutrient availability will be very tight because if you having trees that it takes up a lot of nutrients and then the shrubs also, that requires a lot of nutrients. So there will be some sacrifices there. So I suggest that, you know, we can actually lessen some of the shrubs. We can convert some to grass or whatever. Maybe we can do a thorough assessment later on. And then I think this one is quite common all around the estate.
**[01:13:53] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** This, this type of plant, the CPG is actually suitable for partial shade condition. But in city life I can see it under full sun. So as a result I can see that there are a lot of burnt leaves, can see brown here and there. So if it's extreme hot weather condition, it also get burned and some are really, really old. So I suggest also that, you know, slowly replace this plant maybe through propagation or maybe introducing new plants or in the interim maybe do some replanting of the old plants. You know, it's like, it's quite unsightly also in certain areas because they are looking very sickly with all those brown leaves. And it's a lot in the estate. I can see in the swimming pool and on perimeter as well. So wait. Oh, sorry, I, I think I've not included the climbers.
**[01:15:08] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** I have one more thing. The climbers around perimeter, which is the Tanbergia, you know, the tendrils are always protruding out. You know, they are fast growing that it can obstruct the pedestrian, you know, walking along the footpath. So I actually suggest to replace it with, you know, cut claw. It's also a creeper with the yellow plant that is more compact. It doesn't really like goes outward. It can stay growing within the fence, the fence itself. It creeps on the fence and it will stay there. It doesn't really come out compared to the Tanbergia that you have at the moment.
**[01:16:03] Davier:** How do you spell it?
**[01:16:04] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Sorry?
**[01:16:05] Davier:** How do you spell the pun?
**[01:16:08] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** The, the plant is a common name is cat's claw.
**[01:16:13] Davier:** That's claw. Okay.
**[01:16:14] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, yeah. It has a yellow flower. Yeah. I, I actually, I revised my slide. I put it in. But you know, I, I flashed on you. The, the, the previous one. So okay, I'm done with all the photos. Actually my explanations are in the succeeding slides which I already mentioned earlier. Maybe can have these slides later on so that you can have more time for question and answer. So I have here like value added service. Like I mentioned that when we come on board we do an assessment. So for. For us to really go through what needs to be done on site and what are the issues that you are facing and how can. How we can improve it. So proposal wise we can actually provide the proposals. But installation wise it's chargeable.
**[01:17:14] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** So whatever we can propose to you for improvement, we can give you the quotation as well. So yeah, soil improvement program. We can actually spare some mulching for you since we are doing it in our own nursery. So from time to time we can supply some wood chips to you. But soil we will have to code you for soil tapping up. So landscape enhancement we only provide proposal. So installation will always be chargeable. We can give you complementary tree assessment also with the report for the trees in the estate. So this is one of our value added service. So I think that's about it. So I will have to give you time to. To do the Q and A.
**[01:18:17] Dixon:** Okay. So Marian, we. We can we confirm that your current pricing do include a one year annual pruning which is inside the contract, including the price, correct?
**[01:18:29] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Oh, annual pruning.
**[01:18:30] Dixon:** Yeah. One year, one time annual pr. The whole estate.
**[01:18:36] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** I have to go. Well, I'm not. I have to refresh myself on the annual pruning thing because we have actually quoted on the landscape maintenance only,.
**[01:18:49] Dixon:** Which, which I assume is already included. Like that means it's included a one year service for the estate pruning. That means it's not. It's not. Not on an ad hoc basis. Means it's not chargeable. It's very included in the contract.
**[01:19:04] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Let me go through the. The tender.
**[01:19:08] Dixon:** Okay. Okay, Next, do you have a monthly report that you can report on like example, if in the event you take over the estate, that means a monthly report every month to indicate the before after. So the counselor can have an overall progress what was improved?
**[01:19:30] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yes, we do that.
**[01:19:31] Dixon:** Most likely we will request for money report to be included when you submit together with your attendance record.
**[01:19:40] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah. Yes, our horticulturist does that.
**[01:19:46] Dixon:** So for your site supervisor, usually one month. How many times do they visit City life to check on their on your on site workers,.
**[01:19:58] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** The site supervisor will go with the float team. So it's twice. Twice a month. So when the Floating comes. It comes with a supervisor. So the supervisor will also check on the station gardeners and what are the things needed on site.
**[01:20:17] Dixon:** Okay. Understand. So just now you mentioned for the parameter you propose, it's a yellow. Yellow cloth, is it?
**[01:20:26] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, it's a cut claw. Okay.
**[01:20:29] Davier:** How do you spell the one with the yellow flower?
**[01:20:31] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, it's the one with the yellow cat's claw.
**[01:20:34] Dixon:** Okay. Clothes.
**[01:20:35] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah.
**[01:20:37] Jicong:** But in your proposal it's Eugenia.
**[01:20:40] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Eugenia. Previously we also proposed. But this is an alternative. If you still want to go with a creeper, Eugenia also is fine. But I find that in certain stretch, right. Where there are a lot of trees, it may be like very difficult. Not say very. You know, when there's a shade, right. The trees and the Eugenia. Sometimes the Eugenia will appear a bit sparse on the bottom when there is too much shade from. From the. From the trees. So maybe certain stretch that is really exposed to sunlight, the Eugenia will grow well. But at certain condition where there are. There is shade from trees. Maybe the bottom part a bit sparse, but still can grow.
**[01:21:40] Jicong:** So you propose is. Can grow well even in the shady area, is it?
**[01:21:47] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Not really completely shady, but you know, the other. It doesn't occupy a lot of space. So it's along the fence. It's exposed to sunlight. Then should be able to grow.
**[01:22:01] Davier:** Eugenia is standing on its own, right? So it won't like try to. It will. It will stay within the.
**[01:22:11] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yes, correct.
**[01:22:12] Davier:** The fence. So the fence will still be very visible from outside.
**[01:22:18] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** You mean the Eugenia?
**[01:22:19] Davier:** Yeah, yeah.
**[01:22:20] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yes, it is visible, but eventually. Right. The Eugenia, as it grows side by side, it is. It completely covers the. The fence. The. The. The iron fence, the steel fence will be visible outside, but inside, I don't think it was see through.
**[01:22:42] Davier:** I'm concerned about the view from outside also. Because like creepers like the one we currently have, and maybe cat's claw, it covers the inside and outside. So the fence sort of disappears. Whereas Eugenia, you only cover the inside, but outside you still see the fence.
**[01:22:58] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Oh, you want to see the.
**[01:23:00] Davier:** Yeah, yeah.
**[01:23:02] Jicong:** Will the cost still be the same? Because in your proposal Eugenia is 30.30k 500.
**[01:23:11] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** I have to review because it was actually I. I'm not really sure from which stretch to. To which stretch because it's done by my colleague. But I suggest that maybe certain stretch you may choose other alternative. You. If you go. If you go with your dinner, the entire stretch might be. Might need a lot also.
**[01:23:37] Davier:** Okay.
**[01:23:38] Jicong:** I think giving that Eugenia will Not cover the. The fence from the external. So cut crawl. Since it's also a crawler, we.
**[01:23:47] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, it will completely.
**[01:23:49] Jicong:** What I'm concerned is the pricing is. Is it going to be the same or.
**[01:23:54] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, that's the one thing I want to discuss. Also the Eugenia is quite pricey. Climbers. Climbers like the Tan Berger is really not that expensive.
**[01:24:08] Jicong:** Okay, so maybe you can revise your proposal for the optional items or the boundary parameters. Change it to cupcraw. Then we. We will look at your pricing again.
**[01:24:20] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay, sure. Okay, sure.
**[01:24:23] Jicong:** So decent. Remember to ask for the this additional course. Yeah.
**[01:24:30] Dixon:** Ken. Ken. Got it, Got it.
**[01:24:33] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay.
**[01:24:33] Jicong:** And for the supervisor, twice a month side visit. Just now you mentioned in your one of the slides. So you. Your company educate the gardeners to actually proactively prune the tree so the tree will not grow so tall. So during the site visit, will the supervisor do a sidewalk to look at the trees to educate the gardeners to tell them what are the areas?
**[01:25:01] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yes, yes. It's a normal practice done by the supervisor.
**[01:25:07] Jicong:** And you mentioned soil loosening and merging. Are these all included in the contract or it will be ad hoc basis and we have to pay for it.
**[01:25:18] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Soil loosening is part of the contract. It's a gardener thing. Yeah. When they do weeding, they have to loosen the soil as well. But mulching, we can provide some complementary mulch since we. We also produce it our own. But maybe there's certain cap to the quantity. Yeah.
**[01:25:42] Jicong:** Okay. Yeah, thank you.
**[01:25:50] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Any more else?
**[01:25:54] Dixon:** Do we have any other questions for Maria or do you have any comments.
**[01:25:57] Davier:** About the trees around our estate?
**[01:26:02] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Comments?
**[01:26:03] Davier:** Yeah.
**[01:26:06] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay. I mentioned the hopias, actually it's quite densely planted now, so I see also they are not really doing very well. But even so it requires a regular pruning. All these trees has to be pruned like at least once a year or maybe every two years if they are very slow growing. So I think it helps to improve the structure of the tree and also allow sunlight penetration for the shrubs and ground covers underneath it to grow better. There are trees that needs to be assessed. I think I cannot speak in general, but there are certain trees that needs to be assessed what to do with it. Or maybe certain trees need to be removed or. Or yeah, pruning alone got different types.
**[01:27:17] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** It can be crown reduction, it can be crown thinning or maybe very light pruning, but also needs to have some fertilizer. Also I think when you do the overall soil topping up, it will also improve the condition of the Trees. Because what is the shrub receiving is also what the trees are receiving. So it always boils down to the soil condition. I can say in general the trees are not really that healthy all around the estate.
**[01:28:00] Davier:** Okay.
**[01:28:11] Dixon:** For those kind of trees that are very density, we attract mosquitoes to be hidden inside.
**[01:28:20] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Usually the mosquitoes will breed on the dry leaves. So if you see the trees are very dense, they also drop a lot of leaves. Right. So if cannot catch up with clearing of dry leaves, it will accumulate the, the big, the big leaves. If it has water, it will breed mosquito. But the density of the crown, it doesn't, you know, affect, you know, the, you know, having mosquito and aesthetic now it's more on the dry leaves that fell into the ground.
**[01:28:59] Davier:** They say you asked because of residents. Sorry Dixon, you asked because resident.
**[01:29:08] Dixon:** Yeah, I asked because we do have some or one or two residents that usually they'll pop this kind of question to us due to density. There's a lot of mosquitoes. So we will always try to reduce the density. But whether true or not, that's why we are asking you.
**[01:29:30] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** It's more to the dry leaves density. I mean you have to clear it every now and then.
**[01:29:39] Dixon:** Okay, got it. Members, any other questions for Summerpoint?
**[01:29:48] Davier:** Did you mention the bamboo shoot area? Is there any way we can improve it?
**[01:29:57] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Oh, bamboo shoot, bamboo. The garden there. Okay. Bamboo, I think do regular thinning also. We don't allow it to really grow until wild. That is unmanageable. Pruning of bamboo needs to be on a regular basis. Also. I can see that it's quite dense and some are very long also. But you know, the dry leaves, you can't do much about it. I mean bamboo will sure drop, drop leaves. But what can help is to thin out from time to time and also prune. Also prune it. But it's not like prune that is chopped off bother one time again that like reduce regularly.
**[01:31:03] Davier:** What would you do to the ground area? Because right now it's just in this soil. It's just like compacted flat soil. Is there a cost effective way to make it look more presentable?
**[01:31:18] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay, I can say that there are some ground covers like Piper maybe can grow a certain area there. But knowing the aggressiveness of the root system of the bamboo, nothing much can really grow under it. But we can actually try some Piper at certain areas. And then maybe some areas you can just put granite chips also. Granite chips or any. I'm thinking of the pine bark, but maybe costly also. So more practical is some of the stones like granite chips, but not hundred percent. Just. Just to lessen that, you know, the. The exposed.
**[01:32:15] Davier:** Yeah, it looks very soil.
**[01:32:18] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah, it looks really. Yeah, correct. So maybe along the. Towards the boundary fence or on the side can put. Can plant some Piper definitely it will not grow hundred percent. There are certain place only they can grow. And then maybe nearer to the puff pot you can put some granite chips also just to make it look neater. Maybe that can help to reduce like at least 70% or 60% of the exposed soil. So yeah, maybe it can help a little bit. It doesn't solve the whole thing, it doesn't cover the whole ground. But aesthetically maybe more acceptable. Yeah.
**[01:33:17] Davier:** Okay, thank you.
**[01:33:21] Dixon:** If there's no other questions for Summer Bond, then we will end the session with them. So thank you for taking your time to join us, Maria and Mr. Tu. So in the upcoming weeks, once we have a conclusion, we will let you know. Update again in the email can.
**[01:33:38] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay, Ken, thank you so much.
**[01:33:40] Dixon:** Thank you so much for your time.
**[01:33:41] Davier:** Okay, thank you.
**[01:33:42] Dixon:** Good night. We are done with Summer Pond, so let's wait for Nature Landscape. The next session will be 8, 10. For Natural Landscape.
### Vendor 3: Nature Landscapes (Felicia)
**[01:38:44] Dixon:** Okay. Council of nature landscape. The Ms. Felicia is in the waiting room. So if there is no other comments, we will admit them in.
**[01:38:56] Davier:** Okay.
**[01:39:00] Dixon:** We will invite them now. Hello, Ms. Felicia? Yeah.
**[01:39:09] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yes, I can.
**[01:39:11] Dixon:** Yeah, yeah, great. We can hear you. Okay, so thank you for joining us this evening. Ms. Felicia. Maybe we would like to do a introduction of your company.
**[01:39:22] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Sure. Can I share the screen?
**[01:39:26] Dixon:** Yeah, sure. Okay, I've given you the share reps.
**[01:39:46] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Able to see my screen?
**[01:39:48] Dixon:** Yes, clear.
**[01:39:50] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay. So my colleague, my director Jacqueline, I. Think she can't make it. So that's why I'm here alone. Yeah.
**[01:40:02] Dixon:** Okay.
**[01:40:03] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So. Okay. Basically for Nature Landscape we have two divisions. Our division is actually more on landscape maintenance. We have another division that actually does landscape implementation works. Yeah. So our core for our company is actually these four that we provide to our clients. And if you can see here, this. Actually the team, my director, me and my colleague Dorisha. Then on top of that we have the maintenance team which comprises of Andrew, Catherine, Belle, Jingy and Alice. And I have my back end support, Roger, Tuga and Yanchu who does all the admin work and operations. Admin work?
**[01:40:52] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah,.
**[01:40:54] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** This is my team who handles commercial. Dorisa handles the commercial side with Horticulturist. And another operations colleague of mine. This is my design and build team. If let's say we have any landscape implementation or landscape improvement works that your. Site would like to work on, my. Design and build team can actually come. In and support especially on the design part. This is our in house arboriculture team,. My specialized climbers and my lorry operator. So these are the main people that. Will be running around.
**[01:41:40] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Anything extra is my ad hoc guys and this is my green wine irrigation specialist. So this is my team, the operation side. So under my maintenance we also have this portion where we call it QA qc. We actually conduct landscape audits for our sites to ensure that our sites actually have best practices. On top of that we actually check on our team whether are they managing the plant health correctly or is there any safety shortage. So all these checks are we will do it maybe quarterly or maybe bi yearly. So this is the areas that is.
**[01:42:40] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Actually part of our. Reach.
**[01:42:46] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay,.
**[01:42:50] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So in for Tampines area, right. Basically our we do have maintenance sites there but more in places like Bayshore,. Tanamera, Bedok Reservoir site that is the nearest.
**[01:43:12] Christy (Plant Culture):** So on top of our maintenance that.
**[01:43:15] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** We offer we have value added services like the pre con survey which we. Will do if let's say were awarded the contract, we will do a pre con survey. Then on top of that we have. Our monthly horticulturist that will go and visit. They will actually check on the plant. Health and we will do a one month a monthly report so that Masite and council site can actually know what. Is going on regarding the plants. Then creative solution is actually what I. Was saying just now regarding the design and build department. So this is part of our division, the integrated plant displays. We have indoor potted plant displays. These are the offices that we handle.
**[01:44:11] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So on top of all this we. Also have our festive plants like the Chinese New Year displays and our hanging plants. So this is the design built part that I was talking about. So this is how we move forward with our clients, how we help them define what their goals and budget is. Then after that we will help with the consultation and assessment. After that we move on to the design and proposal. So basically most of our design and build we actually do things like fantasy gardens reintroducing biodiversity. And these are our small good class bungalows projects.
**[01:45:11] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So these are quality assurance part. So on top of just physical checks at site we also have things like job sheets. So after the work is done we. Actually send the job sheets out for to let you all go and review and to check whether it's our work done. Then you can just sign back. We also have our safety assurance audits. Where we'll make sure we go. Our safety will do one month, one. Time checks on our guys. Think so far that's all about our company. Do you have any questions for me?
**[01:45:56] Dixon:** Okay, so Felicia, does Nature landscape, do they provide, do you provide a monthly report?
**[01:46:01] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yes, we do.
**[01:46:03] Dixon:** Indicating like the before, after the plans, after you took over the project, the monthly report to show us what are the action plans taken and etc.
**[01:46:14] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so we do have two types of reports. One is the work done report. The second one is called the hotel report which is. I think this is what you're asking for. That means based on our pre con and we'll go one round with you to go and identify the areas that. Needs to be identified. On top of that following the following month and we'll go back on. This with our report to state whether is it done or not done or still in progress.
**[01:46:41] Dixon:** Okay, so how does, how long, how often does your supervisor come now per month to supervise your workers or your horticulturist?
**[01:46:51] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so I have one fixed supervisor at site every day.
**[01:47:00] Dixon:** Okay.
**[01:47:01] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah. Then on top of that I have my floating supervisors that will be going down to site. So if I'm not wrong for yours.
**[01:47:11] Christy (Plant Culture):** Is,.
**[01:47:16] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yours is fortnightly, right?
**[01:47:19] Dixon:** Ours is a two man show.
**[01:47:22] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah. So you have two men at side. But we also have our mobile float team that goes down fortnightly.
**[01:47:28] Dixon:** Yeah, yeah.
**[01:47:29] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So on top of the person at site, our fortnightly supervisor, our fortnightly team that goes down, the supervisor there will also oversee. Then on top of this we have our pics, our horticulturists that will be the account holders and they will go down monthly one time a month to. Have a walk with you.
**[01:47:50] Dixon:** Okay, so for your contract that they indicated in the pricing, does it include a one time annual tree pruning or it will be a separate cost on top of it.
**[01:48:00] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so based on the tender that we submitted, right on top of the provision of landscaping, we did include provision of pruning services which is the tree works. There is one year, one time, the annual one.
**[01:48:13] Dixon:** Okay.
**[01:48:14] Christy (Plant Culture):** Yeah.
**[01:48:14] Dixon:** Understand. Councillor, is there any other questions for Ms. Felicia?
**[01:48:21] Jicong:** Yeah. So Ms. Felicia, did you attend the site visit?
**[01:48:26] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Actually it's my colleague who attended but. She's currently unavailable now.
**[01:48:33] Dixon:** I see.
**[01:48:33] Jicong:** Then tell you what, because we did during the site what we did ask for recommendations based on the observations of our city life landscaping conditions. So did she manage to share with you any recommendations and observations for if. If we award the contract to you?
**[01:48:53] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so for this part, right. It was not shared to me yet. However, for any landscape improvement works, if let's say we are awarded, right? It all depends on. We will try to work with your. If, let's say if the plants within. The estate we can propagate, they will. Use in situ propagation to actually do. The landscape improvement works. If, let's say it's a whole new type of landscape, then we will come up with a design intent and a design concept. Then after we'll let your view through first and if you think that the. Design is okay, then we'll give you a budget. So it works two ways.
**[01:49:40] Jicong:** Okay. The other thing I want to check is we did ask for optional items, but I didn't see you code for the option items. So may I understand why.
**[01:49:55] Christy (Plant Culture):** We didn't.
**[01:49:57] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Let me check for you under the Value Added Services. Right.
**[01:50:04] Jicong:** Optional items.
**[01:50:05] Dixon:** Optional items. Which is the last part of the tender document.
**[01:50:21] Christy (Plant Culture):** Optional.
**[01:50:24] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** So again, which page you are looking.
**[01:50:26] Dixon:** At the last page. Last page of the tender document you will see optional items that require you.
**[01:50:38] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so trees to remove a Boris report.
**[01:50:41] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Right.
**[01:50:41] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** This is under Value Added Services.
**[01:50:48] Dixon:** Trees to remove for the operation part.
**[01:50:51] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay, so optional items under option item B, the Aboriginal report to recommend whether which trees need to be removed or which trees need to do crown reduction or. This is under Value Added Services. So this one will be done one. Time a year or as and when needed.
**[01:51:09] Jicong:** No, I think you're mistaken. We have, we have already got abolished report, but we haven't done it.
**[01:51:17] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Okay.
**[01:51:18] Dixon:** Yeah, so we actually the. The obverse report is to ask you all to give us a quote to like to upload Laura, because we've got five trees required to cut our upload. So I think that was the approach.
**[01:51:31] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah, yeah, I think if I'm not wrong, my colleague did inform me that this one we kind of missed out. So that is why upon today's meeting then I'll see whether if you are okay, you are still open for me to submit this?
**[01:51:48] Dixon:** Actually, we are okay. We are okay. Because I did send your email. I think you also missed out.
**[01:51:54] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah.
**[01:51:55] Dixon:** We still can look forward to your. To your quotation on these optional items.
**[01:52:00] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Sure, no problem. No problem.
**[01:52:03] Dixon:** Okay, thanks Felicia.
**[01:52:06] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yeah.
**[01:52:08] Dixon:** Members, any other questions for Ms. Felicia?
**[01:52:16] Jicong:** No, I'm good.
**[01:52:21] Dixon:** How about Chairman or Crystal?
**[01:52:28] Davier:** I have A few questions, but it requires the knowledge of the sidewalk. Yeah.
**[01:52:36] Dixon:** Okay. Then Miss, I think the members have no questions.
**[01:52:47] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay.
**[01:52:48] Dixon:** Further to this. Nevertheless, we still thank you for. For your time tonight and we look forward to your optional items to be quoted in.
**[01:52:58] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Maybe. Maybe for the other questions. That requires the. The sidewalk can just list them down. When my colleague gets back. I get her to reply you within this week.
**[01:53:10] Dixon:** Ken, Ken, we will. We will put in once I receive the. The questions.
**[01:53:16] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Sure, no problem.
**[01:53:18] Dixon:** Okay. Okay, so thank you for your time and we will update you along the way.
**[01:53:25] Felicia (Nature Landscapes):** Yes, sure.
**[01:53:26] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay.
**[01:53:27] Dixon:** Thank you.
**[01:53:27] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Good night.
**[01:53:28] Davier:** Thank you.
**[01:53:32] Jicong:** Thank you.
**[01:53:34] Dixon:** Okay, Council, just a quick one. I recall they didn't attend the sidewalk, so nature. They didn't attend. Didn't attend the attendance sidewalk, so definitely they. Yeah, they wouldn't know the condition of the site. Yeah.
### Council Discussion
**[01:53:34] Dixon:** Okay, Council, just a quick one. I recall they didn't attend the sidewalk, so nature. They didn't attend. Didn't attend the attendance sidewalk, so definitely they. Yeah, they wouldn't know the condition of the site. Yeah.
**[01:53:51] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Did they, did they explain why they never attempt?
**[01:53:55] Dixon:** No. Also they just didn't appear. But they don't submit. But they just submit their tender document just like the site. What they. They didn't attend. Yeah.
**[01:54:09] Davier:** Okay.
**[01:54:10] Dixon:** So I will believe the first two vendors, they are not. They are quite knowledge because they. They did attend the site. Site interview. So they have a rough gauge of what is the condition of the city life. What improvement. Improvement.
**[01:54:26] Davier:** Are there any more interviews?
**[01:54:28] Dixon:** No more. That's all for. For tonight.
**[01:54:33] Davier:** The price range for all them.
**[01:54:38] Jicong:** Summer pound is the cheapest. Summer pound the first year comprehensive is 190k. 90 $960. So it's about 1 to 1k per first year for comprehensive, non comprehensive is about 116k for the first year. Then the second year there is a 6,000 increase for summer pond, which is the second one. Okay, then the first one is the second cheapest which is plant culture first year is about 133k. Second that's for comprehensive. Non comprehensive is 126k first year. And for the second year there is a about 15k increase.
**[01:55:47] Dixon:** Yeah, but plant culture we. We recall back, they do not include the annual pruning so that the cost for that is already a question mark.
**[01:55:55] Jicong:** Which will be even higher.
**[01:55:58] Dixon:** Yeah, it will be even higher.
**[01:55:59] Jicong:** Yeah.
**[01:56:00] Dixon:** Well for the summer point is already included.
**[01:56:02] Jicong:** Yeah, correct. Then the third one is the highest is about 14.8K. No, no, 148K for the first year. Second year there's no increase. Okay then in terms of optional item, summer pound is also the cheapest. For the abolish report they go to 1,700 for. Yeah, then plant culture is the most expensive. They quoted 4004 natural landscape didn't call.
**[01:56:41] Dixon:** Yeah Nature didn't call for all the optional items so bear purchase repair we can get someone to just furnish us the rate for the the soil top Then we await yeah one that they recommended.
**[01:57:02] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah yeah so.
**[01:57:07] Jicong:** Yeah yeah so after the three interview I'm actually leaning towards Summer pound not only because of the low price demos is here. Yeah yeah that's true because the lady who did the presentation on the day itself she's the one caught my attention because after the sidewalk she's the only one stay around for a longer time to continue to walk about and take photos.
**[01:57:38] Davier:** Yeah they're the only ones with the presentation to show how what can be.
**[01:57:43] Jicong:** Yeah yeah observations and recommendations.
**[01:57:45] Davier:** Yes correct that's my minimum expectation.
**[01:57:49] Christy (Plant Culture):** I agree yeah the first one I. Came in late but then I was. Like how can yeah like nothing much.
**[01:57:59] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Yeah.
**[01:58:02] Jicong:** Yeah the second one is really more sincere and you can tell from the site interview so when we did the site walk most of the the attendees will just follow me and the Dixon so then this lady is the one she go around take photos even we are doing the sidewalk. Yeah she shows a lot of interest in the landscape sleeping so you can tell the passion from her.
**[01:58:30] Dixon:** Anyway counselor, just a quick recall last two years the tender interview summer also came down exactly this lady and together with just now that Mr. To.
**[01:58:42] Davier:** After two years still so passion.
**[01:58:45] Dixon:** Two years ago they did the tender interview the sidewalk also. Yeah yeah.
**[01:58:52] Christy (Plant Culture):** Okay colleagues or whoever like work with them before do they have.
**[01:58:57] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Like good reviews and stuff like that.
**[01:59:02] Dixon:** Previously I worked before with them at another estate but their is not maintenance but they provide those kind of air H repairs or topping out of trees or tree pruning their price are quite.
**[01:59:16] Jicong:** Competitive one maybe you can ask Johnson to find out in your batch you know Patch is there any estate being maintained by Summer pound and let.
**[01:59:27] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Me get a feedback yeah I think.
**[01:59:31] Dixon:** Johnson whether his portfolio have trillion one.
**[01:59:34] Jicong:** Didn't apply no didn't trillion one didn't even come for sidewalk or send me anything.
**[01:59:43] Dixon:** Yeah landscape yeah okay so we will update I'll update council again once I receive the costing for send me.
**[01:59:53] Davier:** The the recording link interview.
**[02:00:00] Marinelle (Summer Pond):** Okay.
